The 9th Super Working Mum weekend retreat took place on the 17th-19th of March at Ashburnham place.
It was a beautiful experience hanging out with some other mums. It was a time of healing and letting go of pain in God’s presence.
On Saturday we had a lovely guest speaker- Dr Micha Jazz (a presenter on Premier Radio and a Spiritual Director) and his lovely wife Jayne Jazz. We learnt how to create intimacy with God even with a busy schedule.
As mothers we know how it can get so busy juggling everything but then God can speak to us during toilet breaks, in the shower, in traffic, queues, waiting for a child to finish a football game or swimming if we invite Him to speak.
Dr Jazz taught us how to do breathe prayers to aid contemplating and meditating in God’s presence.
The best part for me was an exercise he gave us to do. We had to go away and contemplate on the questions: What are you holding on to? What are you running away from?
When I went away to think about it I realised that I have been holding on to clutter in my home and running away from the process of decluttering.
Decluttering has been a main goal of mine for years now but I found the thought of sorting out my things daunting so I just sat on it.
However God revealed something to me: “The clutter in your home/life is a block to your financial growth.” I was like huh? And he gave me an assignment to go check the scriptures to find the link between clutter and money.
Lo and behold it was right there: Proverbs 11:24 AMP There is the one who [generously] scatters [abroad], and yet increases all the more; And there is the one who withholds what is justly due, but it results only in want and poverty.
WOW! I checked up my concordance to see what withholds means and this was what I found: keep back, keep for oneself, reserve.
Clutter in my home meant I was holding on to more than was justly mine. I was keeping for myself more than I should. This is a sign of a poverty mentality. Thinking that I need to hold on to stuff in case I need them some day.
This was a serious wake up call for me. For me to experience increase I needed to scatter, give freely, let go, be generous.
There are some other relevant scriptures that link money and clutter but the one above was the one that jumped out at me. I shared some more about this on a Facebook LIVE video I did.
Right now as I type this blog post, I am in the process of decluttering my home. Something I have had on my mind to do for about 3 years now is finally getting done. I have put my main work projects on hold to get this done. To be honest, my creativity levels have been low and I have not been able to download from heaven freely as I should and it is all tied to the clutter! Sigh.
As I declutter I am expectant.
- I am expecting an increase
- I am expecting the promises of abundance to come to me
- I am expecting the prophecies of quantum leaps declared over my life to manifest
- I am expecting my creativity juices to flow unhindered
- I am expecting to manifest the Big dreams God has placed in my heart.
No more holding back.
What kind of clutter do you have in your life? Is it physical, emotional, mental? I encourage you to pause and get rid of the clutter so you can actually truly live in purpose and manifest the big dreams God has placed on your heart.
I put to you the question: What are you holding on to? What are you running away from?
I have found the answer to that question for myself. I am facing my fears and dealing with it.
Will you join me?
